After discovering a passion for clay in early 2014, I knew this is what I wanted to pursue. Eager to learn more, I enrolled myself at an applied art school (CEPV, Vevey) in Switzerland where I followed a 4 year apprentership in ceramic arts. I learnt different processes and techniques that are used to make utility and and artistic ceramics.
This learning period allowed me to create my own designs, develop ideas and gave me the foundation to explore my own artistic expression. In my final year, I was fortunate enough to participate in different work placements such as a trip to Cyprus. I became immersed in the vast history of this island where I learnt how to recreate ancient pottery with local artist Andreas Fasouldes. I then worked with local Swiss artist Ruth Viterli where I learnt different sculpting techniques and explored different uses of paper with clay. I also enjoyed helping people with destabilises creating ceramics in a social workshop.
In 2020, my partner and I decided to move his homeland of Australia. We are now settled on the Sunshine Coast and after welcoming our second child and spending time with my family, I am currently giving ceramic workshops and working on different productions in my home pottery studio. In the future, I am looking to develop personal projects, grow partnerships and help people recreate a contact with one of the oldest form of art known to humans.
